Laundry and dishwasher products
Avoid any chlorinated products such as bleaches whiteners. Generally the product will advertise on the lable with such phrases as "Septic friendly" or "envronmentally safe". If you are not sure please ring or email the product name you wish to use.
Essentially chlorinated products and disinfectants will kill your system, without bacterial action your system will not work how it is designed. There are always alternate products again please seek advise from us and we will put you on the right track.
Sanitary items:
Never dispose of items like nappy liners, meds, condoms ect down the toilet. Your system will eventually fail or reduce in operation due to blockages or bacterial death.
Never pour down the sink or flush down the toilet any:
1. Cooking oil
2. Paint water or oil based, cleaning brushes or rollers
3. Excess food scraps or use a sink macerator, this will build up slow to decompose mater potentially resulting in more frequent pump outs.
4. Alcohol.....drink it
5. Sour milk or other dairy products.
6. Drugs of any kind as this will also influence the bacteria
The bacteria's environment is sensitive to shock loads of food similar to ourselves. In addition shock loads of water from multiple cloths washing in one day. Stagger washing if at all possible, spa discharge should be at a slow rate, ideally restrict the flow down the sink with a wash cloth.
